NZOSL is a specialist oil terminal operating and associated engineering services company with its Head Office in Wellington.
New Zealand Oil Services Ltd Lyttelton operates the BP oil terminal storage facilities located within the Port area. It also has responsibility for tanker operations at the Oil Wharf including maintenance of the associated equipment on behalf of the industry.
The NZOSL Lyttelton terminal is the largest of eight NZOSL sites across New Zealand; both in throughput volumes and physical size. NZOSL’s seven other operated sites are located in Mt Maunganui, Napier, Upper Hutt & Seaview (Wellington), New Plymouth, Nelson, and Dunedin.
A comprehensive range of activities is undertaken including receipt, storage, transfers by pipeline over the Port Hills to Mobil Woolston and load out functions common to most terminals in New Zealand. Our primary function is to provide safe first class customer service in support of the marketing initiatives of our shareholders.
THE ROAD GANTRIES
The road gantries primarily service the needs of the Christchurch International Airport as well as various other airport sites around the South Island with Jet A1 fuel and Avgas 100.
Diesel and motor spirit are also loaded and delivered to service stations throughout Canterbury and across the South Island to various customers.
Gantries operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
TANKERS AND BUNKERS
Throughout any given year the oil industry in Lyttelton will, on average, discharge 85 Tankers containing a variety of hydrocarbon fuels and bunker around 50 Vessels.
In an average year the industry will manage the receipt and distribution of over one billion litres of petroleum products.
